Which Road leads to where

Its 5:00 A.M on a monday morning and my eyes open up suddenly due to a cat mewwing outside.
In India they consider this to be inauspicious ,be it any time of the day. While the barking of a dog or mooing of a cow isn't any problem for us,a cat isn't allowed to express its emotions in form of various kinds of noises.Oh,i was sleeping merrily just a while ago and all of a sudden i realise that the mewwing is over and i still can't sleep.
I switch the computer on and turn my favorite music on in a low volume so that people don't declare me a jerk who plays loud music early in the morning when its still dark outside.
I am logging in to check my mails in order to check if somebody has pinged me or dropped any important mail. The human need or say, constant urge to network with people these days is continually growing.I looked for some more data on this and got few like the below WIKIFacts. The interesting fact being a lot of them being "finding lost friends" or community wise networking sites like photographers or writers or travellers who can bond with people who belong to the same fraternity and share their valuable experiences.Although a lot of the social networking sites are related to online dating and hook-up network like Adult Friend Finder and Fubar also.

MySpace General. 253145404.
Orkut Owned by Google. Popular in Brazil, Paraguay, India, Pakistan and Estonia. 67000000
Twitter Micro-blogging, RSS, updates 2200000
Reunion.com Locating friends and family, keeping in touch 51000000
Facebook General. 235000000.
Friendster General. Popular in ASEAN countries. 90000000
Fubar dating, an "online bar" for 18 and older 1200000
hi5 General. Popular in Europe,Thailand, Central Africa and Latin America. 80000000
Adult Friend Finder Adults Only Dating/Hookup Network 31950442

Wow,The above data is like a drop in the ocean of many more to come as the human urge to remain connected to its fellow beings grows.

I play the song that i was listening to in a repeat mode,I do this a lot of times if i can't get enough of a song in once.Sung around two decades ago these words are becoming so very true these days:

And the perverted fear of violence
Chokes the smile on every face
And common sense is ringing out the bell
This ain't no technological breakdown
Oh no, this is the road to hell

My mind starts to wonder which road i am heading to or is it the same road we all are going on or can WE really do anything about where these roads lead to.Is it "Destiny" or what we actually do in life decides what path we are treading.

Oh no,I have been listening too many songs these days, there's nothing wrong with the world i live in,Its all well,I reassure myself like each day.

keep pouring in your suggestions as always,we look forward to it.

Hinglish...D'IN'Thing or Dis'IS'gusting ?

Its weekend again..and i was just enjoying a famous bollywood track.Suddenly in the middle of which it striked me that the lyricist has done a great job to mix the regional words with english words in between.
It goes like this..
Rose ke jaisan Pink-pink humre gaal gulabi...
sky ke jaisan blue-blue tohra nain sharaabi.
(My cheeks are as pink as a rose..
Your eyes are as blue as the sky)

While i was completely into the song ,there was another part of my mind which was worried about where are we as a culture heading towards? Its good to quickly adapt any new language ,but, is it happening at the cost of our own language?
"Chalo then ,cya later bro!" can be heard almost at all parking lots or malls.
"Hey Tina, did u check out my bag, mast hai na?" girls giggling to each other .

Do they really know that the lingo they are using is an injustice to both the languages ?
Is today's youth really proud of the Hinglish(HIndi+eNGLISH) culture and ashamed of what belongs to our roots?
In my opinion most of them do not even know that this casual habit is creeping into our system and is going to affect our national language as well as our knowledge of english as well.

And i guess it might be happening in other countries too.FRINGLISH (French+English) or SPINGLISH (Spanish+English). Thats just a guess and if it is not the case then we need no clarification to proove that youth in India are the most vulnerable to culture shock causing difficulty in knowing what is appropriate and what is not.

WIKIFACT: at about 350 million, the world's Hinglish speakers may soon outnumber native english speakers

MTVs and the channel Vs are always there at help for any hinglish lingo crisis, because they are the ones to largely decide what's chalta hai today.
My sis clicks the remote and i get to hear a VJ saying 'This time to haarna Impossible hai" for the Roadies show.
And Dominos for our relief have started doing "Khushiyon ki Home Delivery" nowadays .

People used to jibe at the ABCDs - or the 'American-Born Confused Desis' for their poor understanding of our national language and the khichdi of language they used in conversation.
Ab sabb chalta hai.innit dude?

I wish there was an anti-hinglish vaccination that can be done for all the newborns so that we succeed in protecting our language in future or else a day will come when indians will fail to differentiate the two equally important languages.

Hungry Kya?
So stop eating the khichdi and lets prepare the Rice and Dal separately to enjoy the taste!

Keep pouring in Your suggestions to better this post.

nothing's in place...?

Hi frens,
I am sure all of us have felt this many a times in our day to day happenings that NOTHING'S in RIGHT Place ....or at least most of the things dont fall into right places .Whatever happens does not happen quite the way we want it to be.
Lets try to make this situation a bit better if we can.Lets say you try howsoever hard to keep your boss happy,it turns out he is annoyed even at the sight of you. This is a tough situation since workplaces define a major portion of our lives these days and it becomes even tougher when your so called BOSS is continously trying to crucify you for the silliest of errors in that "not so important report" or lets just say make your life hell.
What do we do in this seemingly impossible situation?
The answer lies within us .We just have to search it with a Calm and composed head and lots of water because believe it friends, drinking water when your mind goes blank and you are out of ideas or you are feeling jittery ,does help a lot.
So what is the answer to the above helpless situation actually?
Does humiliating your boss in public the way he does ,help? NO..you may get yourself stuck in a total mess and go home with a pink slip in your hand.
Does ignoring him completely and avoiding his presence help? NO..He may notice this and take it as an egoist move .
Does nodding your head affirmatively at WHATSOEVER he says and follow his words like a court's summon, help?NO again...he may think you are a sycophant and don't have your own mind to take decisions .

Ok..So what is the trick that is going to help "poor you" ?Chuck this current blood-sucking job and seek another?NO...because that is the LAST option one should rely on.But sadly though, all of us think of it as the very first option.
We will look into some of the other ways to get back your tarnished repute.

The first and foremost step that one should care about starts in your cubicle ,it is your very own WORK that you are assigned to do.You have to start being really really careful and even is it is not perfect it should be very near to that,so that there is no chance of anyone pointing fingers at it.This will take a while for your boss to galp down his throat but slowly you will succeed in assuring him that you are a person he can count on when it comes to work.

The second thing that we should all keep in mind what the old saying goes"the boss is always right".I dont say blindly follow that but we should avoid negating anything that the boss says in public and IF we MUST correct something he said at the meeting ,we should watch our words carefully so that it appears that you are indeed trying to help him,or if possible correct him in person not in public.

The third option is a more humanitarian approach to the problem. It may not suit people who have gathered a lot of rancor for their boss which is hard to get rid of,because this requires shedding all your ego at workplace.Try to understand your colleagues not just your boss.Remeber to maintain your self-esteem while respect others' too.If you are a person who does not like socialising much, you need to open up to your colleagues just a little bit ,help them in a report or two,and it may work wonders for your reputation at workplace.

There are many other ways and ideas to implement upon and go home feeling contented about your workplace.Share more of them right here at this open discussion,as we are eager to listen to more and more ideas like these and help people grow in not only the workplace but also in equally tough situations that they face in life .
